We perform a visual inspection to identify and control according to species.
To aid us in this process, please leave the ant trail untouched. Ants leave a chemical trail to guide colony members to the destination. If you clean up the trail, it will be more difficult for us to follow the trail back to the place where your ants are coming from.
We provide a free estimate/quote over the phone. The cost of treatment starts at $150 and varies depending on the severity of the problem. The treatment process can take place inside and/or outside.
The chemicals we use to treat ants can possibly be harmful if they come into contact with skin, are ingested, or are inhaled.
Keep all food in (airtight) sealed containers. Keep counters wiped down and free of food crumbs or spilled liquids.
Caulk around windows seals or other cracks and crevices that ants may use to enter your home.
The best way to prevent future issues is to schedule regular visits from a pest control professional. Appointments can be scheduled at 2, 3, or 4-month intervals. Develop a plan with an MDE Pest Services professional to prevent and manage future ant issues.
Ants can range in size and color. They are usually about the size of a grain of rice and can be brown, black, or reddish in color.
The most common types of ants we deal with in South Carolina are carpenter ants (black ants) and fire ants.
Ants live in colonies and are generally only found indoors if they are attracted by a food or water source. They leave a scented chemical trail that other ants can smell for guidance to the location of the food.
Brown & black ants only pose a real threat if they’ve created nests that can cause structural damage.
In general ants are pretty clean critters. Finding random ants crawling around in your kitchen or bathroom is more a nuisance than anything else. No one likes finding dead ants in the flour/sugar jar.
Fire ants are an entirely different problem. See the special sections regarding fire ants to read about the threats that fire ants may pose to your health.
